Education and training are essential to help patients and families navigate the pediatric cancer system and advocate for continuous improvement and change. Similarly, career development and research training are pivotal for early career researchers and healthcare providers to help guide their way into the clinical and academic world.

The aim of the project is to identify the goals and needs of people with lived experience, as well as early career researchers and healthcare providers, regarding their involvement in pediatric cancer research and career development.

By using the data gathered through this project, the Education & Training research theme will be able to design relevant educational content that match the needs of the ACCESS Network with the needs of the broader pediatric cancer community. 

Additionally, the project feeds into the broader goal to support the education and training of the next generation of pediatric cancer researchers and to increase meaningful collaborations between researchers, clinicians and PWLEs. These collaborations will eventually accelerate the work undertaken by ACCESS and the development of educational programs through patient and academic partnerships.
